The Merlies Guide

Region 3: Pond & Wetlands

Overview

The Bright Postcard of a Post-Apocalypse

The wetlands are the sunniest face of The Merlies' world: a teal pond ringed by wildflowers, reeds and mossy stones, with the flock gliding low over the water in official screenshots. It is the biome that sells the game's solarpunk pitch — no ruin porn, just nature thriving in the space people left empty.

Flying Low, Crossing Carefully

Open water changes how the squad moves. Birds cross in loose formation rather than climbing, and the shorelines mix solid ground with soft reeds and slick stones. The official trailer shows the flock taking off together from the banks — a reminder that the squad moves as a community, and that a crossing is only safe when every Merlie can make it.
